Paul Weber, Conductor/Choirmaster
Paul Weber is an organist, conductor and composer based in New Orleans, where he is Organist and Choirmaster at Trinity Episcopal Church. He is also the founder and director of Krewe de Voix, a chamber choir that specializes in the music of the Renaissance and Baroque. Krewe de Voix has collaborated with Marigny Opera Ballet, Opus Opera, and this October will perform Vivaldi’s “Gloria” at the Crescent City Chamber Music Festival. They have been featured performers for the national conference of the Church Music Association of America and the winter series of the French Quarter Festival at St. Louis Cathedral.
Beginning this fall, Dr. Weber will be playing with the Marais Baroque Ensemble, a new early-music instrumental group based in New Orleans that plays on original instruments or their facsimiles. Recent solo organ concert engagements include St. Benedict’s Abbey, Covington, LA, the Shrine of St. Martin of Tours, Louisville, and St. Paul’s Cathedral, Birmingham.
Dr. Weber is also half of the Wilson Weber Project, a collaboration between Chip Wilson, guitar and voice, and Paul Weber, piano, specializing in blues, gospel, jazz, and Chip’s imaginative original songs. He holds degrees in organ and music theory from Lawrence University and Yale University. His published choral works can be found at Choralife.
