Kristin Schmitz, Soprano
Soprano Kristin Schmitz has worked for several years to create new space for music collaboration in the Greater Minneapolis and St. Paul area, and now in the New Orleans metro area. While pursuing a Bachelors in Vocal Performance at the University of Minnesota, she developed and presented a multi-media recital program, incorporating spoken poetry, ensemble singing, and visual art alongside traditional Classical solo repertoire. After graduating, she co-founded and directed Esperanza Ensemble from 2016-2020, bringing a program of accessible solo and ensemble vocal arrangements to over 20 different under-served care facilities in the Twin Cities area.
Over the last few years, Ms. Schmitz has also continued solo and ensemble performance work. Recent highlights include singing the roles of Marian in The Music Man and Eurydice in Orpheus in the Underworld and frequent performances with the Minnesota Chorale alongside the Minnesota Orchestra. She has also worked as a music director, conductor, and soloist in diverse church settings and as the co-director of a community variety show. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Performance at Loyola University New Orleans, studying voice with Dr. Tyler Smith and conducting with Dr. Meg Frazier.
Ms. Schmitz performs at CCCMF 2025 on October 10
