Bryan Batt, Narrator
A New Orleans native, actor and producer Bryan Batt is known for performing the role of Salvatore Romano in AMC’s Mad Men (2007), and for roles in 12 Years a Slave (2013) and Jeffrey (1995). Mr. Batt missed his first audition to play Salvatore on Mad Men (2007) because he and his boyfriend (now husband), Tom Cianfichi, already had a commitment to take their goddaughter, Ramsey Schmitz, to Paris to repay her for several things she had done for them during Hurricane Katrina (including evacuating Mr. Batt’s mother from New Orleans). The Mad Men showrunners asked him to come in again, and so after the Paris trip he was able to audition and get the role. During the filming of the iconic show, he continued to live in New Orleans between shooting episodes in NYC.
More recently, Mr. Batt has starred in the Broadway remake of Saturday Night Fever (1977), in the role of “The DJ,” and in the off-Broadway premiere of the latest edition of Forbidden Broadway (“FB Cleans Up Its Act”), for which he was nominated for a Drama Desk Award. 2010 saw the release of Mr. Batt’s memoir, “She Ain’t Heavy, She’s My Mother.” He has also co-starred in two unrelated movies addressing the assassination of John Kennedy: 2013’s Parkland and 2016’s LBJ.
With his business and life partner, Tom Cianfichi, Mr. Batt co-owns a New Orleans home design and gift store called Hazelnut.
Mr. Batt performs at CCCMF 2025 on October 17
