Mozart and Jofre

Last season, we introduced you to the Argentinian bandoneonist/composer JP Jofre and the response was overwhelmingly enthusiastic!  By popular demand, we have brought him back for “Round 2,” pairing his inimitable style with that of another great prodigy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.  JP Jofre and the Manhattan Chamber Players will once again shine in the intimate space of Rogers Memorial Chapel at Tulane University.

Program: The music of W.A. Mozart and JP Jofre

A Musical Miracle

While some composers were bewilderingly brilliant from the moment they lifted a pen (or a quill?), some were late bloomers, working hard to deservedly earn their place among history’s greatest artists. This joint concert of CCCMF’s Quartet-in-Residence the Dover Quartet and Ensemble-in-Residence the Manhattan Chamber Players, will culminate in a performance of Mendelssohn’s musical miracle, his Octet for Strings (written at the age of only 16!).

Program: The music of Antonín Dvořák, Franz Schubert, and Felix Mendelssohn

Haunting Brilliance

Classical Chamber Music has few (if any) pieces that could be realistically called “Halloween-themed,” but there are certainly works that care meant to conjure frightening images and invoke an unsettling atmosphere.  For CCCMF’s 2018 Season Finale Concert in the historic Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church Sanctuary, CCCMF’s Quartet-in-Residence the Dover Quartet and Ensemble-in-Residence the Manhattan Chamber Players will again come together to present music sure to leave your spine tingling.

Program: The music of Dmitri Shostakovich, Arnold Schoenberg, and Mary Bianco
