Lott Quartet

The Lott Quartet was founded around a mutual love of chamber music and a deep desire to reach audiences with engaging and insightful programming. Based in New Orleans, the Lotts are committed to contributing towards and building on the storied musical history of their hometown. The Lott Quartet takes their name from 19th-century violinmaker John Lott.

The Lott Quartet’s members are individually active members of the New Orleans Musical community, and perform in the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gulf region’s only full-time professional orchestra, as well as for numerous other local musical organizations, including the Crescent City Chamber Music Festival, Musaica, and the University of New Orleans School of the Arts, where they have served as Quartet-in-Residence.

They have studied and performed chamber music with some of the world’s finest chamber musicians, including members of the Guarneri, Juilliard, Cleveland, Brentano, Dover, Escher, Pacifica, Miro, and St. Lawrence String Quartets. They are alumni of the Juilliard School, Royal Academy of Music, New England Conservatory of Music, Eastman School of Music, Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, and Louisiana State University’s School of Music.
